Juneau and Cell Coverage
We are in the capital of Alaska, Juneau.  It is land locked in the sense there are no roads out of it.  You can get there by boat, by plane or by dog sled only.  The town was founded by three guys.... One was an Indian chief, one was named Harris and one was named Juneau.  There was an argument as to whether it should be Harrisburgh or Juneau. They decided to vote on it.  Mr Juneau bought everyone a round of drinks before they voted and he won by a landslide.
We saw the Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls today.  It was a nice hike despite the rain . The midst coming off the falls got us all soaked, so everything was wet.  We saw more eagles in a  mile than we've seen in a lifetime.  They were hanging out on light posts and in the fields.  We were  riding in a bus so didn't get good pix.  We also saw a brown bear in a swampy area nearby.  The tide can vary up to 22 feet and we went thru at low tide, so the water was muddy.
We are enjoying the musicians on the ship.  One group in particular plays before dinner and we go down to see them before we eat. There was a local guy who sang last night songs about the gold rush and told us stories about the stampeders . It is great to learn the history behind the things we see.

We have been using the ship's WiFi which is mediocre, but doesn't like uploading pictures.  Today in Juneau we have AT&T so things are working much better, hence the postings.
