Back on Line and Cruising
We're in Alaska.  We had two days at sea. One was to get to Tracey Arm Fjord and the other was to travel up it.  Along the way we became acclimated to the ship, the Legend, and saw a ton  of wildlife.  We have seen too many whales to count.  It is mostly the back or tail or the spout of water it blows in the air.  We've also seen a lot of dolphins and sea lions. Going toward the glacier in Tracey Arm, there are a lot of icebergs in the water.  The sea lions love  to sun themselves on the icebergs so we caught quite a few hanging out.  Yesterday, we saw a brown bear.  They are like grizzlys but 300-400 pounds  bigger.  He was hanging out in the shoreline rolling in the grass and just walking around.
Today, we visited Skagway.  It is where the gold miners came by boat to make their way to the gold which is further into Alaska.  We took a train ride up to White Pass Summit which is the US/Canadian border. The stampede, as the gold seekers were called, had to pass thru this stop and had to take one year's  worth of supplies. It was quite a climb on a train, so it would be daunting to do by foot with all your gear.
We are heading to Juno tomorrow, but we wanted to post so you know we're still traveling. We've seen several glaciers. Caris says she likes Montana better, but we're here for the long haul and will continue with our journey.  We apologize for the typo below on fjord.... Can't edit with phone.
